English
Eddie:Michelle, is that you?
Michelle:Eddie? No way! Are you auditioning for a part too?
Eddie:Yeah! I’ve been following this director since she did Lovers in Chicago last year.
Michelle:How have you been? It’s been ages.
Eddie:You know, same as always. I’ve been looking for work since my last director suddenly changed the cast.
Michelle:If I remember correctly, you were supposed to be the lead in The Guitarist next month. What happened?
Eddie:Well, he said that he was looking for someone who was a little bit taller. Guess I didn’t fit the bill.
Michelle:That’s too bad.
Eddie:Yeah, it really pulled the rug out from under me. How about you?
Michelle:I just finished up touring with the roadshow of Boulevard A and now I’m looking for work.
Eddie:Boulevard A? Isn’t that the one with the talking robot characters?
Michelle:That’s the one. Oh hey, I’m next! Good luck!
Eddie:Thanks, Michelle! Break a leg!

“follow (someone/something)” ~に興味を持つ

Lauren:Hey Paul, it looks like there’s a concert tonight! Do you want to go?
Paul:The Flying Penguins? I’ve been following them for years! Let’s go!
Paul:Flying Penguins

Alyssa:I think the Chinese caterer might be a little too casual for a wedding reception.
Martin:Hmm, you’re right. It doesn’t quite fit the bill. We need the food to be unforgettable.
“pull the rug out from under (someone)” 突然援助を打ち切る

Joe:I can’t believe your mom isn’t going to help you with the move.
Maxine:Yeah, she really pulled the rug out from under me when she changed her mind.
“break a leg” 頑張れ

Lenny:I’ve got to go, mom! The test starts in ten minutes!
Jessica:You’ll do great. Break a leg!
Jessica:
