English
Jenna:Thanks for taking me with you, Tony.
Tony:No problem, I’m glad you had a good time.
Jenna:A good time? That’s the understatement of the year. The concert was amazing!
Tony:I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. We’ve always had a similar taste in music.
Jenna:Yeah, we’re cut from the same cloth.
Tony:Well, except for that one time, when you were really into that weird country singer.
Jenna:Hey, he was great, OK?
Tony:Great? He was terrible! I really thought your tastes had gone down the drain.
Jenna:You just never gave him a chance…
Tony:Anyway, I’m going to a music festival next month. Do you want to come?
Jenna:You can count me in!
Tony:Awesome!

“understatement of the (month/year/century)” 非常に控えめな表現

Summer: That actress’s dress looks pretty nice.
Torrey: Pretty nice? That’s the understatement of the century. It’s absolutely gorgeous!
Summer:
“cut from the same cloth” とても似ている

Matt: We’re into all the same things – she even likes skydiving!
Dana: I’m glad you found someone who is cut from the same cloth as you.
Dana:
“go down the drain” 失われてしまう

Carl: It’s too bad we have to move. We did so many renovations on this place.
Esther: I can’t believe it. Two years of hard work will go down the drain…

Heather: We’re thinking of going out for drinks after class tomorrow. Want to come?
Brian: Sure, count me in!
Brian:
