（1）～の中に走って入る
“run into” には「～の中に走って入る」という意味があり、文字通りどこかに「駆け足で走って入る」ことを表します。またより比ゆ的に「素早く急いで入る」という意味合いで使われることもあります。
- Quick! Run into the building!
- 早く！ビルの中へ走って入って！
- I thought I saw a bear, so I ran into the cabin.
- 熊を見たと思ったので、山小屋に駆け込んだ。
- I saw him running into the train station.
- 彼が駅に走って入っていくところを見た。
- I should run into his office and tell him the good news!
- 彼のオフィスに急いで行って、そのいい知らせを教えてあげなきゃ！

“run into” の直後に目的語を取らないとき、“run into” ではなく “run in” が使われます。
- Stay in the car, I’ll run into the store and buy some snacks.
- 車の中にいてね、僕は急いで店に行ってお菓子を買ってくるから。
- Stay in the car, I’ll run in and buy some snacks.
- 車の中にいてね、僕は急いでお菓子を買ってくるから。
（2）ぶつかる
“run into” には「衝突する、ぶつかる、ぶち当たる」などの意味もあり、通常スピードが出ていたり、力が加わった状況で何かがぶつかる様子を表します。
- Ouch! I ran into the glass door!
- 痛っ！ガラスのドアにぶつかっちゃった！
- I saw the two cars run into each other.
- 二台の車が衝突するのを見た。
- Be careful not to run into anything in the dark.
- 暗がりのなかでは何かにぶつからないように注意しなさい。
- This guy ran into me with his bicycle while I was walking to work this morning.
- 今朝会社に行くときに歩いていたら、自転車に乗った男が私にぶつかってきた。
（3）ばったり会う
文脈によっては、文字通り「物理的に人や物にぶつかる」という意味合いが薄れ、「予期せずに偶然に会う、ばったり会う」という意味で使われます。
- I ran into my former boss at the mall yesterday.
- 昨日、ショッピングモールで前の上司にばったり会った。
- Wow! I didn’t expect to run into you here!
- わぁ！ここで君に会うとは思ってもみなかったな！
- I can’t believe I ran into my high school gym teacher at the yoga studio.
- ヨガ教室で高校時代の体育の先生にばったり会ったなんて信じられない。
- I hope I don’t run into my ex-boyfriend; he lives around here.
- 前の彼氏にばったり会わないといいんだけど。彼は近所に住んでるから。

“fancy running into you here”「こんなところで君に会うなんて」という表現は、知り合いとばったり会ったとき、ちょっとおどけた調子で相手に話しかける表現です。

「出会う、出くわす」という意味を表す “run into” には、“meet” や “encounter” といった語彙と同様に、「（トラブル、困難、問題などに）出くわす」という意味もあります。
- I ran into some trouble.
- トラブルに直面した。
- They kept running into difficulties while trying to access the website.
- 彼らがそのウェブサイトにアクセスしようとしている間ずっと、なかなか繋がらない状態が続いた。
- If you follow the instructions, you shouldn’t run into too many problems.
- その説明書どおりにすれば、そんなに問題は起こらないはずだよ。
（4）［数百／数千／百万」に達する
“run into (the) hundreds / thousands / millions” は、「［数百／数千／百万］に及ぶ、達する」という意味があり、数量や値が多くの数字に及ぶことを意味します。
例文にあるように、通常特定の数字を明確に示すわけではなく、その数字の範囲に達することを表します。
- The number of refugees flooding into the country ran into the tens of thousands.
- その国に押し寄せた難民の数は、何万人にも達した。
- The cost will run into billions of pounds.
- 経費は数十億ポンドにも及ぶだろう。
- The protest got violent towards the end, and arrests ran into the hundreds.
- 抗議運動は終盤に近づくにつれて暴力行為が増し、逮捕者の数は数百にも及んだ。
- Ticket prices during the peak season can run into the thousands of dollars.
- ハイシーズン中のチケット料金は数千ドルもの値になることがある。
