Doctor: Hi, Alexis, thanks for coming back. We’ve got your results in.
Alexis: Thanks, Doctor. What do they say?
Doctor: Well, all of your tests came back negative. It looks like it’s just a case of the sniffles.
Alexis: Really? But I feel like I was hit by a truck.
Doctor: Hmm, there’s been a bad cold bug going around. You may have caught that.
Alexis: Is there anything you can give me for it?
Doctor: Well, as you know, there’s no cure for the common cold. I can prescribe some over the counter medicines to alleviate the symptoms, but your best bet is to get some rest and relaxation.
Alexis: I see.
Doctor: If your condition hasn’t improved in a week, come back and see me again.
Alexis: OK. Thanks, doctor.

「風邪」を意味するカジュアルな表現です。

体調がひどくすぐれないことや、体中が痛いことを意味するフレーズです。
例）Jasonは昨晩遅くまで飲み歩いていた弟のCoryと話しています。

Cory: Ugh, I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck.
Jason: 昨日は楽しかったみたいだな。
Cory: もう、二日酔いでボロボロだよ。

“(bug/virus) going around” （風邪やインフルエンザなどが）流行している
風邪やインフルエンザなどがある地域で急速に広まっていることを意味する表現です。
例）BenがDeannaに気分がすぐれないと伝えています。
Ben: My stomach doesn’t feel so good, and I think I might have a fever…
Deanna: You know, I heard there’s a bad stomach bug going around. You should probably stay at home.
Ben: お腹の調子がよくないな。熱もあるみたいだし…
Deanna: なんか、たちの悪い胃腸炎が流行ってるらしいわよ。たぶん、休んで家にいたほうがいいと思う。

Tyler: It’s something my mom would always do to alleviate cold symptoms.
Devin: おい、なんでハチミツなんてなめてるんだよ、ビンから直接だし。
Tyler: 風邪がよくなるって言って、うちのお袋がよくやってたんだよ。
