夏の時期によく聞く「熱中症」。英語では、一般的に “heatstroke” または “sunstroke” と言います。

ジェシカのセリフも以下のように表現できます。

“I never would have thought that drinking too much alcohol could be a cause of heatstroke.”
（まさか飲みすぎが、熱中症の原因になるなんて思わなかった。）

“If you don’t want to get sunstroke, you’d better take care to stay hydrated.”
（熱中症にならないように、水分補給に気を付けたほうがいいよ。）

ちなみに、日本語の「（季節的な）夏バテ」や「（一時的な）暑さによる疲れ」は、“heat exhaustion” と “heat fatigue” で表現できます。

“If you have heat exhaustion, it’s best to rest in a cool place.”
（暑さで疲れたら、涼しいところでゆっくり休むのが一番だよ。）

“Every summer I lose my appetite because of heat fatigue.”
(毎年、夏バテで食欲がなくなる。)
